The challenge
Manually lifting, sorting and stacking large boards is a labour intensive task, requiring multiple operators.
The solution
A custom designed automated board flipper arm was implemented along with a new conveyor line.
The tech
A Beckhoff IPC with integrated TwinSAFE safety provides a compact, all-in-one solution for PLC control and safety. Communicating with ABB VSDs and remote IO.
New safety fencing was provided to keep operators safe, with Pilz request-to-enter door locks.
